About the Role
The Broker will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing new submissions, renewals and endorsements to verify that they meet carrier underwriting guidelines. They will use logic, critical thinking and an understanding of best insurance practices to underwrite risk and determine acceptability.
What You’ll Be Doing (Essential Responsibilities)
- Review the necessary submission details for issuing new or renewal quotes.
- Analyze both new and renewal submissions, and recommend appropriate market options.
- Assess coverage requirements and create tailored proposals.
- Review and address inspection recommendations and any discrepancies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with agency and underwriter partners.
- Respond to calls or requests regarding issues, delays, or discrepancies, and ensure resolution to the satisfaction of all parties involved.
- Supervise or delegate endorsement requests, signed applications, forms, underwriting details, tasks, and insurance certificates to carriers.
- Develop business sources or leads.
- Other duties may be assigned.

What You’ll Bring to Us
- Excellent written and Verbal communication skills and enjoy working with people in a high-volume customer service environment.
- Ability to be highly organized, yet flexible in dealing with shifting priorities, fluctuating workloads, and evolving procedures.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision, while maintaining positive staff relationships within a teamwork environment.
- Must demonstrate competence in computer and office equipment operations. Experience with MS Office products (Outlook, SharePoint, Word & Excel) and the Internet are required.
- Minimum typing ability of 60 words per minute with at least 95% accuracy
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required.
- At least 2 years of insurance experience (Wholesale insurance experience is preferred)
- Property & Casualty License at hire or within 180 days of hire. Must maintain license during employment.
- Familiarity with carrier systems and agency management systems is preferred
What We Need You to Know
- Salary $50,000 + commission
- Full-time
- Hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
- This position is eligible for hybrid work
- Travel: Minimal
